Participants in the Carpentaria Ghost Nets Program come from a range of backgrounds and experiences. On-ground clean ups are responsibility of Indigenous ranger and community groups who are working together to rid their beaches of nets. These communities are represented on the Steering Committee along with a number of other non-government organisations. Government agencies also participate in Steering Committee meetings in an advisory role.
